BMW Puts Rumor Mill to Rest Regarding 3 Series Touring Wagon

Sometimes the rumor mill can be a useful tool, especially when it's churning out unreleased details regarding new BMW models. Other times, it just needs to be shut down. Such is the case with recent whisperings of the BMW 3 Series Touring Wagon's end. BMW of Bakersfield is extremely happy to report this particular rumor as false. In fact, the automaker will be launching a brand-new F30 platform BMW 3 Series wagon by late 2013.

Due to the fact that most U.S. consumers have slid away from station wagons, many BMW followers have been skeptical that the new model will actually be released here. However, there is a distinct fan base surrounding the BMW wagon; one that we at BMW of Bakersfield are certainly a part of. So naturally we were pleased to hear that the automaker will in fact bring the new 3 Series Touring Wagon to America after all. The 3 Series timeline will begin with a European release of the new BMW sedan, followed by the wagon and new coupe/convertible variants and then end with the 3 Series wagon's debut in our own market.

BMW has not yet released specific details about the make and design of the new Touring Wagon. However, we can tell you that it will most likely be based off of the BMW 3 Series sedan which was recently unveiled. The 2012 sedan sports a new look with an elongated nose, a twin-kidney grille attached to the headlights and a more unified façade.

If you have a soft spot for station wagons like we do, then be sure to keep checking back. BMW of Bakersfield promises to provide new information as soon as it comes down the line. If news about the 3 Series has you thinking ahead about your next BMW vehicle, you are welcome to contact us online. We'd love to let you test drive a 2011 3 Series or any other BMW model available at 5400 Gasoline Alley Drive Bakersfield, CA today.
